6-16. AIR BRAKE CHAMBER CONTROL VALVE REPLACEMENT.

Equipment Conditions:
Tires chocked on both sides
Brake air reservoirs drained
Ground boards emplaced
WARNING
Wear protective goggles when underneath trailer and opening
drain valve and avoid the air stream. Failure to do so could
result in injury to perso nnel.
Insure all pressurized air has been drained from air tanks.
NOTE
Retain plugs and save after removal.
The air lines connected to the air brake chamber control valve
must be removed prior to this procedure. See Paragraph 6 13
for technical data on air lines and fittings.
General Procedure:
a. Removal.
1.
Remove air brake chamber control valve (3) with nipple (1) attached from front air reservoir.
2.
Remove nipple (1) and pipe plugs (2) from air brake chamber control valve (3).
