Using two people, each person grabs an end of a deployment lanyard and walks it to the opposite side of the road at a 45
degree angle (approx.). Do not unfold the net at this time.
WARNING
DO NOT wrap deployment lanyards around hands or fingers to prevent personnel injury.
6.
From hidden vantage point, each person loosely holds the end of a deployment lanyard and awaits a target vehicle. DO
NOT wrap end of deployment lanyard around hands or fingers.
WARNING
Release deployment lanyards as soon as possible after deployment of the net to prevent personnel injury.
To prevent personnel injury or even death, all personnel should stand clear of deployed net in case target vehicle
makes evasive maneuvers or tries to avoid the VLAD.
7.
Just before target vehicle approaches, both people quickly pull deployment lanyards across the road and immediately
release the lanyards. Stand clear of area in case target vehicle makes evasive maneuvers or tries to avoid the VLAD.
8.
Make sure the situation is under control after the vehicle has been stopped and proceed to REMOVE NET DEVICE
FROM VEHICLE (below).
9.
If VLAD net device was deployed but not used to stop a vehicle, proceed to WP 0006 00, REPACKING THE NET
DEVICE.
