 Making brake major adjustment at anchor pins-semitrailers

wrench
tighten
locknut
(fig.
Check
clearance
again.
Rotate drum until inspection hole is 1 inch from
other end of same brakeshoe, nearest crankshaft.
In-
sert 0.010 inch feeler gage and turn worm shaft
(fig. 42) of slack adjuster until 0.010 inch clear-
ance is obtained. Check clearance ((b) above) at
other
end
of
brakeshoe.
Repeat
procedures
outlined
in
(b)
and
(c)
above
on each shoe of each brake. Check all anchor pin
lock nuts and make certain worm shaft of each slack
adjuster is locked.
Install wheels (par. 52e).
