NOTE
These instructions are mandatory.
The trailer must receive lubrication with the approved lubricants at the recommended interval in order to
be mission-ready at all times.
The KEY lists the lubricants to be used in all temperature ranges and shows the interval.
The lubrication chart shows the lubrication points, names the item to be lubricated, the required
lubricants, and recommended interval for lubrication. Special lubricating instructions are contained in the
NOTE section of the chart.
The recommended interval is based on normal conditions of operation, temperature, and humidity. When
operating under extreme conditions, the lubricants should always be changed more frequently. When in
doubt, notify your supervisor.
SPECIFIC LUBRICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Keep lubricants in closed containers and store in a clean, dry place away from extreme heat. Keep
container cover clean and do not allow dust, dirt, or other foreign material to mix with lubricant. Keep
lubrication equipment clean and ready for use.
Maintain a record of lubrication performed and report any problems noted during lubrication. Refer to DA
PAM 738-750 for maintenance forms and procedures to record and report any findings.
Keep all external parts of equipment not requiring lubrication free of lubricants. All lubrication, wipe off
excess oil to prevent accumulation of foreign matter.
Refer to FM 9-207 for lubrication instructions in cold weather.
Refer to TM 9-238 for lubrication instructions before and after fording operations.
After operation in mud, sandy, or dusty conditions, clean and inspect the points of lubrication for fouled
lubricants. Change lubricants as required.
