ENGINE AND PUMP THEORY OF OPERATION
ENGINE
The diesel engine provides power through the flexible coupling to the centrifugal pump. The engine is a 3-
cylinder, 4-cycle, valve-in-head, air-cooled engine with a maximum rating of 35.4 hp (26.4 kW), located
on the curbside of the semitrailer. The engine is operated and monitored by the control panel located on
the roadside of the semitrailer.
PUMP
The M967A2 is equipped with a 4-in., self-priming, low-pressure centrifugal pump that provides fuel
delivery up to 320 gpm (124 Lpm) through one of the nine fuel hoses.
