Sampling and Gaging Kit. The sampling and gaging kit is used to perform ASTM tests D-4057, D-287, D-1085,
D-1086, D-1250, and D-1298. It is a portable petroleum testing kit which is stored in laboratory cabinet D. It
consists of the carrying case, shoulder strap, gravity computer, cupcase thermometer, hydrometer cylinder,
gasoline indicating paste, water indicating paste, image tape and bob, weighted beaker sampler, and standard
hydrometers.

Saybolt Chrometer. The saybolt chrometer is used to perform ASTM test D156 and is stored in overpack box 1.
The unit consists of two glass tubes, supported in a vertical position. The left hand tube is of plain glass, and is
provided with a 3 position turret to hold a combination of 2 full, 1 full or 1 half color standard. The other tube is
closed at the lower end with a colorless plate, and is provided with a drain cock. This tube is graduated and is
intended to hold oil. Below the tubes is a mirror for reflecting light through the oil and tubes and into a optical
prism eyepiece.

Smoke Point Apparatus. The smoke point apparatus is used to perform ASTM test D1322 and is stored in
overpack box 1. The apparatus is used to determine the smoke point of aviation turbine fuel and is manually
operated. The apparatus is composed of a base, support rod, candle, candle socket, lamp body assembly, and a
chimney.

Sulfur Apparatus. The sulfur apparatus is stored in laboratory cabinet U and is designed to comply with the
requirements specified in ASTM test D-4294. It operates on 110V, 60 Hz, single-phase power supplied from a
convenience outlet. The sulfur apparatus uses the Energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy method
for the accurate and rapid analysis of the sulfur content of petroleum products, including fuel oil and diesel fuel.

Utility Bath. The utility bath is stored in laboratory cabinet U and is designed for ASTM tests D-91 and
D-1796. The bath is a constant temperature general utility bath and is thermostatically controlled. It operates on
110V, 60Hz, single-phase power supplied from a laboratory convenience outlet. It is provided with an
adjustable support shelf and thermometer with holder and O-ring.

Water Purifier. The water purifier is designed to produce 2 qt./min. (2L/min.) of Type 1 reagent-grade bacteria
free water. The unit includes a solid-state digital purity meter that displays output water resistance from 0.01 to
18.3 MW-cm with automatic temperature compensation to 77F (25C). The unit also includes a high gear ration
recirculation pump that supplies ultrapure water without long rinseup, plus quiet operation. The unit is mounted
on the curbside wall and operates on 110V, 60Hz, single-phase power supplied from a convenience outlet.

Water Washout Apparatus. The water washout apparatus is used to perform ASTM test D-1264 and is stored in
overpack box 5. The apparatus operates on 110V, 60Hz, single-phase power supplied from a laboratory
convenience outlet. The apparatus consists of a control panel, water bath, 380 W heater, thermoregulator, water
pump, motor, and a flow meter.
