(b) Remove slack adjusters (par. 64b).
(c) Remove spring bearing plates (par. 87a(2)).
(d) Drill out 10 rivets (E, fig. 59) which secure each
backing plate to flange of axle. Remove each back-
ing plate with shoes and camshaft assembled.
d. Cleaning.
Clean mud
and
dirt

exposed
parts.
with water and stiff brush.
