Fire Extinguisher (24): The three fire extinguishers are 5-pound, Halon, Type 1211 extinguishers. Two are
located in the laboratory and one in the mechanical room.
POWER PANEL NO. 2 (25): This panel is located in the mechanical room and contains circuit breakers that
supply power to the four environment control units, mechanical room lighting, convenience outlets, and all
electrically operated equipment located in the mechanical room.
ECU Duct Work (26): Used to direct air flow from ECU units throughout the interior.
Automatic Distillation Apparatus (27): Used for the analysis of liquid mineral oil hydrocarbons in accordance
with ASTM-standards D86, D1078, 850 or DIN 51751.
Bookcases (28): Provide storage for manuals and other books.
Water Still (29): An electrically heater portable still used to provide pure distilled water for use in laboratory.
Water Purification Unit (30): Used to produce Type 1 reagent grade water equal to or exceeding standards
established by ASTM, CAP and NCCLS.
Cloud, Pour and Freeze Point Analyzer (31): Used to perform ASTM test D-97 and D2500.
Evaporation Loss Bath (32): Used to perform ASTM test D-972 and D2878.
Gas Detector (33): There are two Gas Detectors to monitor dangerous accumulation of gases in the laboratory.
Curbside Cabinets (34): Provide storage for equipment and supplies.
Titrator (35): Used to measure trace quantities of water by coulometric Karl Fisher titration.
Penetrometer (36): Used to perform ASTM test D-5, D-217, and D-937.
Refrigerating Circulators (37): Used to provide cooling to the Cloud, Pour and Freeze Point Analyzer.
Grease Working Machine (38): Used to perform ASTM test D-217. It is hand operated.
Utility Bath (39): Used to perform ASTM test D-91 and D-1796. This is a constant temperature general
Water Heater (40): Provides hot water to the system. It is an electric heater with a 6-gallon capacity.
Sulfur Apparatus (41): Used to perform ASTM test D-4294.
Drain Tank and Sump Pump (42): The still and evaporation loss bath drain into this tank which contains the
sump pump. The sump pump discharges the tanks contents into the water return line for re-circulation.
Thermometer Case (43): Used to store thermometers.
Fuel Sampling Kit (44): Used to perform field sampling of liquids from pressurized systems as specified in
ASTM method D-2275.
General Mechanics Tool Kit (45): Used to perform maintenance procedures.
Copper Strip Corrosion Test Bath (46): Used with copper corrosion test bombs to perform ASTM test D-130.
Refrigerator (47): The refrigerator provides 6.5 cubic feet (182 cmm) of refrigerated space and is explosion
Entrance, Laboratory (48): Located on curbside of trailer.
Air Compressor (49): A base mounted, 2-cylinder, single stage compressor driven by a 3-hp electric motor.
The compressor is capable of providing air at 120 psi.
Fume Hood Exhaust Blowers (50, sheet 3): Used to exhaust noxious and dangerous fumes from fume hood and
gum bath. Both fume hood exhaust blowers should not be operated at the same time.
Surge Tank (51): Prevents oscillations in water system.
