9. Suspension
a. Springs.
(1) The springs are of semielliptic type with 12 leaves held
together by a center bolt and two small and two large
leaf clips. The center bolt end is peened over its hex
nut
to
prevent
it
from
coming
loose.

fifth
and
ninth
leaf.
Each  clip  is
closed at the top by a hex-head bolt which passes
through the clip and a clip spacer, and is held by a
hex nut over which the bolt end has been peeed.
(2) The ends of the spring seat in spring guide brackets
are secured to the axles. The center of the spring seats
