4-24. RECEPTACLES.
This task consists of:

WARNING
ELECTRICAL SHOCK
Before performing any maintenance actions on electrical equipment, ensure all
electrical power has been turned off. Failure to comply with this warning may
result in serious injury or death.
REMOVE
Remove Receptacle. See Figure 4-14.
a.
Position Main Power Panel or Power Panel No. 2 appropriate circuit breaker(s) to OFF. (See Chapter 2, Section 1,
Table 2-2 and Table 2-3).
b.
Verify no electrical power to receptacle.
c.
Remove screw(s) (1) and cover plate (2).
d.
Remove two screws (3) and withdraw receptacle (4) from junction box (5) to gain access to wires.
e.
Tag and disconnect wires by loosening terminal screws (6) and remove receptacle (4).
INSTALL
Install Receptacle. See Figure 4-14.
a.
Connect wires as tagged to receptacle (4) connecting ground wire (green) first, tighten terminal screws (6), and
remove tags.
b.
Install receptacle (4) into junction box (5) and secure with two screws (3).
c.
Install cover plate (2) on junction box and secure with screw(s) (1).
d.
Position Main Power Panel or Power Panel No. 2 appropriate circuit breaker(s) to ON.
e.
Plug in an electrical appliance to verify proper operation of receptacle.
