OPERATION IN EXTREME CLIMATES. Mod Lab B is insulated and weatherproofed for operation in hot, cold, or moderate climates.  The shelter facility provides complete protection from the elements for personnel and equipment; however, under extreme conditions, the following precautions are necessary. a. Cold Climates.  Extreme cold causes cables and wires to become hard, brittle and difficult to handle.  Be careful when handling cables and connecting them to Mod Lab B, so that kinks and unnecessary loops will not result in permanent damage.  Make sure connectors in entrance boxes are free of frost, snow, and ice.  Replace connector covers on receptacles as soon as a cable is disconnected.  Never drag or place an open cable connector on the ground. b. Hot Climates.  In hot, dry climates, connectors, and receptacles are subject to damage from dust and dirt. Replace connector covers on receptacles when they are not in use.  Never drag or place an open cable connector on the ground. c. Warm, Damp Climates.  In warm, damp climates, the equipment is subject to damage from moisture and fungi. Wipe all moisture and fungi from equipment with a lint-free cloth. 2-10. EMERGENCY STOPPING PROCEDURES. To turn equipment off in an emergency, set Main Power Panel circuit breaker A1CB1 to OFF.
