TEST OR INSPECTION
ENGINE TURNS OVER
Check condition of fuel
If fuel filter is clogged, replace
BUT FAILS TO START--
fuel filter (refer to WP 0103 00).
Verify problem is solved. If
condition of fuel filter was okay,
go to step 5.
Check engine for high
If engine is hot, allow 35
minutes to cool before
attempting restart. Verify problem
is solved. If engine will not start
after cooling, go to step 6.
Check for restricted air
If air passages are restricted,
passages or red band in
clear restricted passages and/or
air restriction indicator
replace air element (refer to WP
(refer to WP 0106 00).
Verify problem is solved. If air
passages are okay, go to step 7.
Check for defective glow
If glow plugs are defective,
replace glow plugs (refer to WP
0097 00). Verify problem is
solved. If glow plugs were okay,
notify Direct Support
maintenance that further
troubleshooting is required.
ENGINE IS HARD TO
Check to see if engine oil
Drain oil and refill with proper
START OR HAS LOW
is proper grade for ambient grade oil (refer to WP 0042 00).
Verify problem is solved. If oil
was okay, go to step 2.
Check for dirty,
If fuel is dirty, drain and remove
contaminated, or wrong
fuel tank (refer to WP 0102 00)
