WARNING
Do not use teflon grease or molly-disulfide or white grease lubricant
for lubricating slack adjusters. These lubricants will affect the
Automatic Slack Adjuster (ASA) causing premature clutch failure,
resulting in injury to personnel and damage to equipment.
CAUTION
Electrical or pneumatic tools shall not be used for slack
adjustment.
Initial adjustments procedures start with measurement not
tear-down.
NOTE
For detailed procedures and/or instructions see referenced
"H" Section.
There are four slack adjusters and they are removed and
installed the same way. This procedure covers one slack
adjuster.
General Procedure:
a. Removal.
Remove nut (4), bracket (5), stud (3), and bushing (2) from slack adjuster (1).
b. Installation.
